You can click on the link below if you are interested in reading the singapore 2010 budget--> http://www.singaporebudget.gov.sg/press_22feb.html

The key goal is to grow productivity by 2% to 3% a year over the next decade. If the goal is achieved, real incomes can be raised by one-third, ten years from now. Budget 2010 provides a major investment for this future through the following three approaches:
(i) Raising Productivity by helping enterprises and workers to deepen skills and expertise, and to innovate to create more value;
(ii) Growing Globally Competitive Companies by enabling companies to develop growth capabilities, commercialise their research and development (R&D) and to expand abroad; and
(iii) Including All Singaporeans in Growth by continuing to build a society where everyone has the best opportunity to reach further and stretch his or her potential, and enjoy a better quality of life.

I guess the only way to survive in the future is to embark on life-long learning...this can be seen from the list of initiatives and companies that the government has come up with. E.g SPRING Singapore to improve productivity of SMEs, ministry of manpower with a list of training initiatives and the 10 employability skills, building of new universities in Singapore, improving the educational level of singaporeans and moving to a knowledge-based industry. However, i think that the singapore government has to come up with more initiatives to increase the birth rate of singaporeans. I think that with the emergence of more night clubs, night activities, higher educational level and cost of living, more and more singaporeans are marrying at an older age and this will definitely pose problems in the future. e.g social problems.

came across a website which i find very useful. You can do a wage search using MOM(ministry of manpower)'s website. http://app.mom.gov.sg/momwagesearch/wagesearch.aspx
i guess all this information is very useful when looking for a job...

Saw some photos of yummy food from weini's blog and you make me so envy of u! so much yummy food for you to eat at home vs the one that my mum cooks.

my breakfast= half a packet of noodles (my mum always insist on sharing with me coz it's cheaper that way and that she is unable to finish everything herself)
lunch= a bowl of porridge and fish
dinner= reasonable dinner...
and that's the reason i love outside food...lol
now...is anyone envy of me? i'm not the pampered kinda only child...i don't have privileges...and i have to return the polytechnic school fees to my dad when i start working as well as to support the family....yes, there are pros and cons of an only child but i believe that the pros= having your own room + privacy (and i love having privacy and spending time with myself as i enjoy spending time with myself) and the cons= lots...

finally i'm able to have some time for myself and rest more...i believe that my body can't take it anymore...i can feel a burning sensation in my eyes yesterday and it's hurting so badly that i have to go to sleep immediately...i have been sleeping at around 1a.m for the past couple of months and i think that's very straining on the body and eyes...

saw the photos on joycelin's facebook and phuket really seems fun...and they only spent $550 for the accommodation, air tickets from jet star and expenses...zomg...i'm attracted by the beach and other activities such as riding elephants, swimming and canoe-ing ...hopefully god will offer me a temp job with good pay.....!!!!...fat hope! how can that happen when i'm not even looking for a temp job now...lol...yes...i'm just kidding...but...it's okay to day dream once in a while right? yes...lol

Went to the manhattan fish market for dinner and the food is quite yummy...but the entire meal costs $44++ for two person...quite expensive and the portion is too big for me and i can't finish it...i'm thinking of going there again... http://www.manhattanfishmarket.com/sg/menu-avenue.html ....i think that they have student meal too...

Spent $20 in the arcade at Iluma bugis after dinner and i'm so excited that the machine is pretty good...got all the soft toys using $20....one dollar per try...

i kept some of them and decided to give 3 to jieyi and the rest to my cousins...

Some photos of the hong bao festival at marina bay. Singapore is good at making use of the limited space that they have and i'm amazed by how fast they are able to decorate the place. I guess that they only need a few days to decorate the place and remove the decorations after the event. However, i think that it would be much better if there are more food and beverage stalls at the place. I didn't buy and food and beverages because the queues are very long. I'm happy to take bus home at night because i can do my project on the bus...my brain is almost dying after doing project since morning....zzzzz....i shall rest and then continue later...

It is also my first time walking on the marina bay floating platform and i feel so excited. lol. I also read from the news that Singapore is discussing on whether to build underground cities in order to create more space for the growing population. hmm...underground cities....interesting concept. A few countries are already using it. E.g Japan

Interesting fact: a singaporean has to work for 36 minutes on an average before he/she is able to afford a big mac...
