VivoCity's 300 tenants join hands to raise service standards

With more than 300 outlets, how does Singapore's largest retail and lifestyle destination - VivoCity, ensure that its customers enjoy good service across the mall? By getting everyone: from shop owners to sales assistants, security officers to cleaning staff involved in shaping the service culture at VivoCity. These and more secrets to good service were revealed at the Customer-Centric Initiative (CCI) Learning Journey hosted by VivoCity on 25 April 2008.
The CCI is spearheaded by a multi-agency working committee led by SPRING Singapore and the NTUC, with representatives from Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) and the unions (SMMWU, SISEU and FDAWU).

Our CCI event at Vivocity....

Anyone interested in a 3 months temp job? It’s in an office environment….hurry! while stocks last! This job offer is not through any job agency so that means you’ll get the full amount! Sounds great? Anyone interested please call or message me….sounds like an advertisement but I don’t get any commission...too bad I already have a job…or else I’ll take up the offer….zzzzz

Went out with pek hwa, yilong and yingjie last Saturday night…..really enjoyed myself……never meet them for such a long time and I still feel the friendship bond between us……yilong is still nice as usual, yingjie still friendly as usual and pek hwa is still sweet and lame as usual….jeffrey also went with us…..we went to vivocity for dinner and ice-cream after that……hope to meet up again when all of us are free again……and we forgot to take photos!ahhhhhhh

S$50m fund to boost product innovation for start-ups

SINGAPORE : SPRING Singapore is pumping in some S$50 million within the next five years to help start-ups develop and commercialise their original technology ideas.
The Technology Enterprise Commercialisation Scheme (TECS) was officially launched on Thursday at the opening of the 2nd annual SPRING Enterprise Conference.
The scheme is targeted at start-ups under five years old, seeking to introduce innovative technology products into the market. Applications will be judged for both their technical and commercial values.
Loh Khum Yean, Chief Executive of SPRING Singapore, said: "Firstly, we're looking at the technical merit and the feasibility of the proposal, in terms of what the entrepreneur wishes to do, and in terms of capitalising on this technology to create a new product or service for the market.
"Secondly, we're looking at the market potential of the proposal and the scalability of the business."
Under the new initiative, funding will be given out in two phases. For the first Proof-of-Concept phase, SPRING will support 100% of the costs, up to a maximum of S$250,000.
Under the second Proof-of-Value phase, which includes developing the working prototype, successful applicants can get a grant of 85% of the costs from SPRING Singapore. This grant is capped at a maximum of S$500,000.
"The funding arrangement is to help companies look for ideas externally or internally from tertiary institutions, A-STAR labs and then bring it to the market place," said Philip Yeo, Chairman of SPRING Singapore.
Some SMEs (small and medium enterprises) said the new scheme provides an added incentive to move up the technology scale.
Robin Low, CEO of ARB Technologies, said: "Traditionally, grants were given in the Proof-of-Concept (phase), but during the Proof-of-Value (phase), that's where the SME has to commercialise the product - from proof-of-concept to commercialisation.
"This is where the TECS can fill in... I think SMEs should take advantage of this comprehensive scheme and leverage on it."
Applications for the scheme will close at the end of June 2008. - CNA /ls

Whn I saw his blog entry yesterday (13april2008), I really feel so sad as he is not feeling well and just went to the A & E at Tan Tock Seng Hospital coz of his back injury……when I saw his blog entry, I sms him but he din reply……although we are only friends/even stranger now, I really hope that he will get well soon…I don’t blame you for breaking with me but please get well soon…if it’s really painful then don’t go to work okay? I hope you will get well soon + do well in your exams..do you know that kind of feeling when you sms someone and he/she don’t reply?few millions of questions will start to appear in your mind… did he change hp number? Is he busy? Does he hate me? Why isn’t he replying? He wanna forget me? Should I sms him in the future? Am I causing him pain by smsing him? And so on… I don’t know whether absence makes the heart fonder or absence makes people forget…..
